Saying I'm sorry
In my lifetime I never thought that I could say sorry to the people that I hurt. But during my lifetime I had to face my fear of saying sorry and really had to say it. One time I was at school being disrespectful and I wasn't listening, a couple of classmates and I were not listening to our teacher and saying hurtful things to the teacher. We should have been mature and stopped but we didn't and we ended up making our teacher tear up and cry. That is the time I had to face my fear and apologize to my teacher. Instead of saying it I wrote a " I'm sorry letter" to my teacher because I didn't have the courage to say it in person. I have been in many other situations where I had to say I was sorry. Another time was when I was bothering my friend because I was bored but i sort of over did it and pissed her off. Even though I hated to apologize to people I had to do it because of my conscience. That is one thing that i thought I could never do in my life.

Basketball Practice
This week during basketball practice I sprained my left ankle which sucked. I sprained my ankle when I jumped for the ball and when I came down I landed on my teammates foot and rolled my ankle. After I sprained it i cold packed it and went home. After cold packing it for a day the swelling went away. Then i started to heat my ankle which warmed it up so that it wouldn't hurt as bad. Yesterday I steamed and while I was steaming i made my ankle burn like it was being dipped in hot lava. After steaming my ankle felt a lot better and the pain disappeared. Today I feel like i could play ball and run on it. I hope that it won't swell up after i run on it because would like to play in all of the games this weekend. That is what I am blogging about today.

Something that bothered me this week...
The fact about not having gas for my snow machine bothered me this week because we just got snow for the first time this year. I wanted to ride around all day and night but I didn't have any gas to ride with. Since the gas prices went up my parents can't buy that much gas anymore. But I am thankful that we got more snow and I hope I got gas to ride around before it all goes away.
Gasoline prices are rising because it is hard to get it out here. Right now a gallon of gas costs $6.48. Plus the jobs out here aren't that good, our parents work hard all day and they don't get paid a lot. I wish that I had my own job so I wouldn't have to ask my parents to buy me gas. That is what was bothering me this week.

Making Hunting Tools
During Yupik class in school we make hunting tools like harpoons, black fish traps and other hunting tools. The things I've made so far are a harpoon, a black fish trap, and making a net. But I have made many others during the time I've been here. It takes patience and skills to make these tools, I wouldn't have made them if I didn't have a good Yupik teacher who has made these tools before.
The thing I enjoyed making the most might have been the harpoon because I never made one before, by making it instead of listening how to make it was easier. Harpoons are used when hunting seals the hunter shoots the seal and after shooting it he/she throws a harpoon at it to prevent it from sinking. A harpoon is a wooden pole with a metal tip, at the metal tip another piece of metal pops on and this piece is tied to the wooden pole with string. When the metal tip enters the seals skin it gets stuck which allows the hunter to pull in their catch without loosing it.
All in all, making hunting tools in school is cool because I not only learn valuable tool making I also get a school grade on how I make them. I think our Yupik class is the best class ever because we get to make hunting tools that we can use when were out of school.
